There are two categories of facial wrinkles, static and dynamic. Static wrinkles are visible when your face is at rest. Static wrinkles occur during the aging process because of the loss of elastic tissue. Dynamic wrinkles appear temporarily when a muscle contracts during facial expression, like the forehead, between the eyes, or around the eyes.
Botox® Cosmetic is mainly used to treat dynamic wrinkles in the upper third of the face.
Botox® Cosmetic diminishes or eliminates the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, because it paralyzes the underlying muscle causing the wrinkle. When injected directly into the muscle the purified Botulinum toxin type A prevents the muscle from contracting by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscle. Because the muscle cannot contract the wrinkle cannot form and it gradually diminishes. Botox® is not as effective on static wrinkles. Static wrinkles are better treated with dermal fillers.
Juvéderm, an injectable facial filler, is primarily used for removing nasolabial folds, or “smile lines,” creases of skin which run from the corners of the nose to the corners of the mouth. It is also used as a lip augmentation agent, and to fill in hollow places and scars on the face.
Perlane, like Restylane, is a dermal filler and is a long-lasting gel that, once injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, lift and add volume and help diminsh fine lines. Made of a natural substance called hyaluronic acid, it is a completely safe treatment. The hyaluronic acid in Perlane simply supplements the body’s age-depleted hyaluronic acid to plump-up the lip or to raise the skin and ‘fill in’ the particular wrinkle being treated.
The difference between Restylane and Perlane is the size of the particle (with Perlane containing more hyaluronic acid). This means that Perlane does a better job of filling deep lines while Restylane is used in fine lines or in thin skinned people.
Perlane and Restylane last for between six and nine months, although individuals will have varied results.
RADIESSE Volumizing Filler is FDA-approved for subdermal implantation for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. With just one treatment of RADIESSE® Volumizing filler wrinkles and folds disappear. Immediately. Subtly. And because RADIESSE Volumizing Filler naturally stimulates your body’s own collagen your skin looks even better over time.

Beware of Deals that are Too Good to be True.
Often products offered below market rate are part of what is known as the “gray market.”
Eternity Med Spa scrupulously orders products from authorized distributors and avoids the gray market. The gray market may refer to products originally manufactured by an approved company in the United States but exported abroad and then later illegally imported back into the country. This process can create patient safety issues as these products bypass regulations designed to safeguard Americans. The gray market may also include counterfeit products, expired products, products compromised by not being stored properly and/or diluted products.
